An abundance of research and testing has been performed by the Stratco team in developing the 220 Outback® Beam. The resulting design will allow new, larger span capabilities.
The new 220 Outback® Beam is manufactured and installed as an enclosed beam. The enclosed beam design helps alleviate unsightly dust collection and eliminates the potential for animals like birds to take up residence in the structure. This design detail makes a huge difference to the aesthetics of Stratco Outback® Patio as the centre piece of the outdoor living area. It also reduces the amount of maintenance needed to keep it looking as good as the day it was installed.
Design is a key factor in selecting a new patio, particularly the design of our patio columns and where they sit. The Stratco 220 Outback® Beam brings new span capabilities to the Outback® range, meaning fewer columns are needed to support large Outback® Patios. The 220 Outback® Beam allows spans of up to 9 metres, delivering larger and less cluttered patios with fewer columns. The new 220 beam also reduces the need for any bespoke engineering or non-standard components, which can blow out the cost of a large or custom designed patio.
The 220 Outback® Beam is available for all 1A, 2A, 1F and 2F patio designs using either Outback® Deck or Cooldek® roofing. It is available for both freestanding and attached patios including flyover designs. The 220 beam is available as a ‘standard’ inclusion in wind speed regions N1 - N4 and cyclonic wind speed regions C1 - C3, meaning additional engineering is no longer required, even in extreme cyclonic regions.
This makes the 220 Outback® Beam the perfect solution for many customers who previously have not been able to find a suitable or cost effective patio solution for their location. A cyclonic beam layout is available to ensure that the 220 Outback® Beam can be utilised to create grand patios in Australia’s cyclonic regions without the over-use of columns, which in the past has been the only available option. Spans of up to 7.2m between columns are achievable in cyclonic regions thanks to the new 220 Outback® Beam innovation by Stratco.
The 220 Outback® Beam is now available in the full range of Outback® colours. Any required complementary components have also been developed to suit the new 220 beam. These components include suspension brackets, end caps, beam to wall brackets and beam to beam brackets. These components allow you to customise your patio design to suit your requirements and they make the installation of an Outback® Patio with the Stratco 220 Outback® Beam painless. The 220 beam brackets provide the flexibility of either a post to beam continuous connection, or inline configurations.
